Growth During A Tough Season
12.20.2023

Here’s an excerpt from CEO Jim Paolino’s December client letter. We thought it was too good not to share with our wider audience. LodeStar employees will be off from Christmas to New Year’s, and we look forward to jumping into 2024. Happy holidays, everyone!

Like many industries, December is a pretty slow month for mortgage and real estate. This can be a curse or a blessing depending how you look at it. It’s never going to be the month that pulls you into profit. But it’s a great time to reflect on the year, take some time off, and plan for the year to come.

This year was one of progress for LodeStar. Growing in a tough market, gaining market share and adding a slew of great integrations (with more to come). We celebrated our 10th anniversary and got to have a major industry conference right here in Philly. Most importantly, we were able to continue to add to the LodeStar team.

We are fortunate to have the ability to give everyone off from Christmas to New Years. We will still be available if needed at support@lssoftwaresolutions.com. Whether or not that is the case for you, time off work is essential for everyone. Here are a few guidelines I try to follow:

  • Not contacting employees while they are out of the office.
  • Set expectations around email checking, auto forwarding emails is ideal if possible
  • Model good behavior! When you’re out of office don’t send lots of emails or check in. Follow the items above to set an example.

I am already looking forward to coming back to the office on January 2nd ready to tackle the year ahead. We have a lot of exciting things I can’t wait to share in 2024.
