Front End Developer and Designer
LodeStar is looking for their first dedicated Front-End Developers and Designer with strong HTML and CSS skills to develop web applications for mortgage lenders. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a small 100% internal development team and being the UX design lead for all of LodeStar’s web applications. This role will be instrumental in the development of LodeStar’s new products as well as the redesign of legacy software.
A self-starting personality is important working in a small team. Concrete design specs or development tasks cannot always be provided due to the nature of the small company. Understanding next steps on a project and being to work on them before being asked is essential to overall success.
Candidate will be working with backend/middle developers, the CTO and at times the client to design the UI workflow of new products. There will also be a lot of input regarding the end product design. Our development team is small and only internal so being available to work on different tasks and being flexible is critical.
Accepting feedback from all different sources and incorporating them into design is imperative. The candidate must balance this feedback with their own subject matter expertise and defending ideas where appropriate.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Designing icons/logos/banners will be required. Design experience and ability in the design suite of the developer’s choice.
Candidate with be required redesign LodeStar’s legacy products. This will require restructuring HTML/CSS. Depending on the complexity of the upgrades these will be self-managed and conducted with the support of the LodeStar product team.
Accustomed to working in GitHub and Visual Studio
2+ years experience in Front-End Development.
Ability to be proactive and collaborative in a fast paced setting.
Experience working within a team of developers.
A love of highly-detailed and precise work.
Adept at setting timelines and managing agile workflows with multiple projects in play.
High level of confidence utilizing design tools.
Effective at working remotely.
